Those interested in ancient magic may wish to make their way to London on 17-18 January 2019. The University of London Senate House is hosting a two-day workshop on Cognitive Approaches to Ancient Magic, which has some great speakers. The rapprochement between cognitive sciences and historical disciplines seems to be gaining ground fast, which is great news for those interested in the really tough questions about what it was like to do magic in antiquity.
