Two New Books of Interest

A new collection on the great Emperor Julian (still called ‘the Apostate’ in the title, in a remarkable acceptance of Christian value-judgements) is out from Brill. A look at the table-of-contents promises much of interest for those interested both in the political and religio-philosophical sides of Julian’s life and work.

The OUP series Oxford Studies in the Abrahamic Religions has brought out a book by Bronwen Neil with the promising title Dreams and Divination from Byzantium to Baghdad, 400-1000 CE.

We shall post links to any reviews which appear online.
