The recent issue of Aries:the Journal for the Study of Western Esotericism focuses entirely on ancient esotericism (Volume 15, Issue 1, 2015; ). Edited by Gnosticism scholar Dylan Burns, the issue includes eight articles on topics such as esotericism in Judeo-Christian thought, deification and rebirth in theurgical practices, and theoretical models of scholarship.
